Learning Interests

I discovered when I started teaching piano lessons three years ago that being a good teacher means you must also be a good student!  I realized I had a lot of knowledge about how to successfully play the piano and read music, but I didn't know how to communicate it very well to my students.  What did I do?  I started studying!  I read theory books (starting with the kind for "dummies" ;), websites, student books.  The better I understood the information, the better I could explain it.  In return I've become a much better musician!  I love the cycle of learning.
